Tips on how to love yourself:
- Don't judge your body parts individually -Try experiencing your body as a whole. Don't worry about what you'd look like taller, shorter, skinnier, with a different nose, whatever the case may be. Look at your body as one big image, and love all of it.
- Don't diet- Learn about eating and exercise habits that will help you get a healthy body that you like.
- Don't compare yourself to celebrities-Chances are; you'll never look like celebrities in magazines or on TV. Why? Most of them are airbrushed or photoshopped to look perfect. To to find your own style.
Cutting & self-harm
Injuring yourself on purpose by making scratches or cuts on your body with a sharp object to make yourself bleed is called cutting. Cutting is a type of self injury. Most people who cut are girls, though some guys do too. People who cut usually start cutting in their young teens. Some continue to cut when they're adults.
People can cut themselves on their wrists, arms, legs, or stomachs. Some people self-injure by burning their skin with the end of a cigarette or lighted match.

Getting the feeling of cutting and not actually doing it
- rub an ice cube on your skin
- wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it gently against your skin
- draw on the skin with a red pen in the place you usually cut
Alternatives to cutting
Doing things that express anger or release tension can help a person slowly move away from cutting.
- go for a walk or run, ride a bike, dance
- rip up paper
- write out your hurt, anger, or pain using a pen and paper
- scribble on paper using a red pen
- squeeze or smoosh a stress ball, handful of clay, or Play-Doh
Suicide
I could do a long paragraph about suicide statistics, but I think I am going to just write you guys a "letter"
Dear Girls,
Suicide is hurtful in many ways. I know you're probably thinking that theres no reason to live, and no one would care if you would kill yourself. But that's not true at all. People love you; whether you know it or not. When you think you have no friends, you do. You just might not know that. You might think suicide is the only way out; but its not. It's just hiding from your fears thinking that killing yourself is the way to get away from the bullying, abuse, or whatever is in your life. I only have one motto in life, and that is to "stay strong". It's two words that gets me through the most hardest times in my life. And when you are in that moment where you're ready to jump, or do whatever just to die, remember those two words. Because when there's bad, sooner or later it will get better. Life's not about waiting out the storm; it's about learning to dance in the rain. Don't wait and hide from your problems, face them with that strong, beautiful personality that you have. It will get you through everything. I hope I helped you in the slightest way. Stay strong.
