Why are parents so protective?
You may not believe me, but parents are protective over you because they love you. They may not act like it sometimes, but they don't want anything bad to happen to you. They are much older than you, and have been here for a longer time. So if they tell you that you can't go to your friends house, or you can't have a cell phone, don't get mad at them. I'm sure they have a good reason.
Mother and daughter relationships

One of the hardest things for a teenager to do is learn how to deal with parents. A lot of the whining and screaming happens when teens and parents get angry. What can you do to learn how to deal with parents?
- Talk about yourself. Tell them what you like and what you don't.
- Ask them questions about who they were at your age and what they wished they handled better. They'll know you're interesting in hearing them.
- If they criticize you, ask them why they think that. (having a bad attitude, wearing too much makeup, etc.) Then discuss it calmly. Don't become defensive or start yelling.
- Ask for their advice before they give it to you. If they realize you want to know what they're saying, they might understand and let you do a little more.
- Always be honest with them. Most parents find out the truth anyways.
- Find things to thank them for. Don't wait for something big to happen; give compliments randomly.
Why parents are so nosey?
Your parents ask questions because they feel like you don't talk much with them. To avoid that, talk to them about your day, so they won't keep asking you questions. That way, they will know that you are opening up to them, so they won't have to keep looking for things to talk to you about.
